i got a custom built sealed sub box to fit in my back sit of my cab. i have one 10' JL w1 sub. should i get a ; they are both about the same price kenwood is a little more;

170 rms x2 at 4ohms

yeah its a aftermarket
i already have one 300 watt amp powering my speakers and i just have the sub play off that same amp. i really need to get another amp to power the sub.

 

I'm pretty sure that Kenwood is grossly overrated at 500 watts rms. No $200 amp is going to put out that kind of real power. Either way, they'll probably both perform about the same. I would just go with whatever one you like.

 

should i get a mono, if so i could get a mono jl amp with 500 rms bridge

 

A 10w1 shouldnt need that much power. I think you'll be fine with either of the amps you posted. Get the JL amp if you want to be uniform with brand.
