I have that same recovery shackle thing, works great. I dragged it on many rocks in Moab last year and it held up great. It is loose like that but you cant even tell it's back there.

    Cool.

I'll spare myself the 30 mile round trip and just go with it.

If I notice it being annoying on the trail, I'll put strips of foam on it or something.

    Thanks for the replies guys.

My receiver shackle is loose, but not that loose. More than enough other things on my truck that rattle already that I don't mind it. *cough* hi-lift *cough* I just leave in there.

Yeah, the thing is though I always have an ear out for shit rattling or whatnot to make sure my truck is fine. To have something constantly clanking is a distraction to that, IMO.

Who knows? I'm probably overreacting but it makes me wonder why a lot of people had to take angle grinders to theirs in order to make it fit (Amazon reviews, Lisa (TW member), etc) and mine seems to be the loosest anyone has seen (no homo).

I made mine at work, machined from solid 2" bar stock. Has a little wiggle room and unless i hit a good bump i hardley know its there. My hitch w/ball actually makes more noise. But i keep them in tool box so sticky fingers dont get them. They took grinders to the sharp corners, made them 45 degrees because the reciever has rounded corners. Thats what i had to do so mine would fit. If i was to order one i would order the warn one because its forged instead of cast.

I used mine once. Don't need it anymore since I have shackle mounts on my bumper.

^This. RAT Products (me) makes them. This particular one is pending sale, but I'm making another one to perfect my process before running a group buy. I'm also coming out with square tube sliders next month. And thanks both of you, I strive for quality.

Possibly. I haven't yet decided if I'm cool enough to have 2 shackles on my bumper, plus one in the hitch.

Haha okay, I've been looking at getting it off of Amazon. But if I can get it for even a few dollars cheaper, I'd rather do that.

Blake's will be the first set I do but he's going pretty crazy with it but they'll probably cost right at 375-400 depending on how much he changes his mind on the design.. But depends on what you want.. I'll text you abt it

What's this thing worth on Amazon? The shackle alone is like $20 I think so I was gonna reuse it but I didn't want black shackles.
