Finally got started on my bumper. Got impatient waiting for plates to show up and fabbed my own. Took forever to cut and drill everything with my basic tools but its done. yzuze9y3_37462eeb0b65d7b83519b861af596a127c335c2d.jpg

    Time to get to work!

I cheaped out and got a generic brand exterior door handle that broke a couple weeks after installing. Got an OEM one from the dealership yesterday for $100. At least I don't have to go through my passenger door anymore.

Also got my VIAIR compressor mounted in one of the cubby holes. Just have to wire it up and get a few air fittings and it should be good to go!

Pretty much stock with some crap welded to it.
I haven't used it but I've read quite a few positive reviews about it. If I ever need one I'd probably snag one..

I used one when I built my tire carrier. It gets the job done. I eventually had to tack all the nuts on it that allow for adjustments and then the same for the big nut that holds your tube in place since over time they all stripped out.

If I go to use it again I'll probably need to replace the block on it where the auger shaft (I think that's the name) goes through since there are only 2 cheap brass bushings in there that have warn and now allow the auger shaft to have all kinds of slop. I found a replacement at summit for $40 that has needle bearings.

But still in the end if I'm into it for $80 that's still cheaper than others. I'd buy it again. Knowing what I know about it.

You can probably get by without replacing that block if you take your time with cuts or even find replacement brass bushings.

Hope everyone had a great holiday. Installed the Toyota "skid plate" this week. I think it looks good with the painted grill. Not much protection I'm sure, but I like the look.

How the f can you fit tubes with a chop saw??

Sounds like its more trouble than its worth.. I might just use the angle grinder. I only need to make two notches.

Its for the hoops like on PcBulder14's truck
