Ive grinded my thumb before, just hit it with a 60 grit sanding disk and it went right through my tig gloves and grinded a flat spot on my thumb.

I am sure kit #2 would be easy enough to install. To be honest all three would be pretty basic for an entry-level wrench turner.

While I have more battle scars than you can count, I do tend to wear nitrile gloves whenever I can. You don't lose much of the touch at all, and while they don't keep you protected from heavy cuts, they DO tend to prevent the more common scratches and abrasions. Plus they keep my hands clean. When a customer walks into my shop I like the ability to just strip off the gloves and give them a proper hand shake, without the worry of them getting grease on their hands.

I hate wearing gloves. Had too all the time up in Alaska. Required. Freaking blows.

I like being able to really feel stuff. My hands a scared like crazy but I don't mind.

Just to clarify...since we were talking about this a bit ago and all..

Did that alternator you found fit 5vzfes? Thought it was only direct bolt in for 3rzfes...

Careful with something like a drill or drill press. When I was taking machining classes our instructor showed us pictures of dangerous situations and accidents. A drill press for example can grab a glove, twist it into the bit and literally twist a finger off. Where as without a glove it may only cut you. Just my .$02

drill press i often don't. But thats a very well controled tool and the thing your drilling should be well clamped down so your hands should never be close to it.

normal drill..thats iffy..depends on the situation for me.

That's a mean looking thumb.

If there was ever a Western movie made, with fingers and thumbs strictly as the actors, your left thumb would be the gnarly, gritty, scarred up villain that strikes fear into the community when ever he strolls into town.

I did learn one thing, I was nice and helped 2 ladies dig out, and jumped started another, but 2 hours in that with no face protection will made for a frozen and sore head.

Quick question: in regards to a CB drop and rear lift; what is the ideal drive shaft angle? Do I want either sides of the two piece to be parallel? Slight angle? My googlefu is apparently weak. I don't have vibes, just trying to maximize life of u-joints / CB. Think I'm going to fab something...

Depends on the amount of lift you have. You more or less just want your front and rear driveshaft to be as even as possible. Axle shims in the rear will also help with the angle at the rear axle.
