Gates is great. Aisin is just stock and fine. Both will work.

The chrome strip you guys are talking about was on the SR5 model trucks. My 96 has fender flares:

 

Puttin it in the 98 3.4 TRD Limited guys

 

Someone put those on there. They didn't come stock with those

My 95 LX has the chrome strip "flares".

 

Comes with a new Aisin water pump w/ oem style gasket , misimoto belt, Aisin belt tensioner, NSK and Koyo idler and tensioner pulleys, and Aisin tensioner. This is the exact stuff you'd get from the dealer just a lot cheaper. Just make sure you check to see if your water pump has the bypass outlet on the tstat housing.

I'm pretty sure those are Bushwackers. I put the same on mine looks like yours.
Mine came with the itty bitty chrome "flare" originally.
