I had my exhaust dumped straight down before the axle and it gets a little drony, I would do it to the side and down so the sound doesn't bounce back and forth off the underside of the bed. Depending on how you do it clearance would be gained not lost.

For the 95-97's we don't worry about melting any ABS wires back there so even if the exhaust gasses pass over the axle it should be fine.

I have the pipe going over my frame and out before my rear tire
Doesnt drone because the gas actually gets out from underneath the truck and doesnt affect my clearance at all
Best part is i did it all woth the original exhaust pipe and didnt have to buy any extra

Same here, I used existing pipe with a 40 series flowmaster and dumped at the rear axle. Runs quiet at highway speeds.

Oil is low but I don't see any puddles or smoke from my exhaust. I went from conventional to synthetic oil couple months ago but idk What's making my oil level go down. Any ideas?

Could've just got burned off since you switched, I'd go another oil change and see if it drops again to make sure it's a reoccurring issue.

Yea I'll change it this weekend and pray not to much damage has been done. But I'll go to a junk yard and find another 3.4L and do a rebuild on it. Does anyone know if the 4.0l in the 2nd Gen would fit in a 4x4 first gen with the R150F transmission? Just give me a wider range of options. If it does how much modification would I have to do? I always think of back up plans incase of the worst.

    No

It's a huge motor compared to our 3.4l and totally different tranny mounts and motor mounts.

Not worth the effor. Might as well do a v8

Dang, well was worth asking, if I wanted a v8 I'd just put my ls1 in it. But I don't think it's worth the trouble unless this was my play truck not a daily driver.

Glad I been saving money for a bunch of stuff though. If I'm lucky I might find a 3.4 with a supercharger just going to tear it down and rebuild it. But thanks for the info
