That trailer on KM2s is no joke. Heavier-duty frame, full leaf suspension, adjustable Rancho shocks, hubs to match your vehicle so you can match wheels, etc. Pretty badass, but I can't justify it, and frankly it reuins the streamlined look of the teardrop. If I wanted a dedicated offraod trailer, I think a military conversion with RTT would be the way to go. Or...one of the looney Australian expo-grade rigs...

Yea those trailers are way to wide IMO.

Plus the best Offroad trailers mimic your truck perfectly in terms of wheel and tire size and wheel base so it'll follow the trucks foot print exactly around corners.

 

Yeah, I understand, and that's why I said ex-military with RTT or an Aussie kitchen sink....depending on where you tend to go. So, I guess ideally, you need about three trailers...

Yeah, all this, but unless you ahve new or modified coils, I would not recommend it on stock coils, especially if worn out. Could be dangerous in evasive maneuvers. What kind of lift do you have? Does it include aftermarket coils?

 

I rolled over 289k today. All while still getting just over 20mpg. That's 10 sheets of 19/32 plywood and other materials in the bed, 700lb trailer and a CRF450x

 

That would be a 700lb trailer. I sell tons of trailers that size that weigh between 500-800lbs. You'd be surprised how much an axle, tire, wheels and steel deck would weigh combined

 

Yup right at 700lb. It was 600ish before the expanded metal was added. Now it's more useable as a general trailer and easier to get a bike street/dirt strapped down with something to stand on. I sold the wildernest a couple days ago and have a few people looking at the Tacoma this week as well. And that's 600ish lbs of plywood.

 

I took off my swampers and put on the 31s. Swampers don't like the interstate. They are on different rims so I can change back any time. I only put 300 miles on them so far.

 

I know! I'll probably end doing a RTT on the Cherokee to fill the void. It was so damn easy to setup!

Since trailers came up I'll share what did to mine a few days ago. I resprayed the fenders with bedliner since they were pretty hammered from rocks.

 

yes, that ^^^ a psuedo-ex-mil but impressively built from scratch...kudos, Adam. And probabaly a fraction of the wieght compared to an M416?
