Any idea if this HID Kit will work?

So I know there are some pricey HID Kits out there upwards of $200 or more. I came across these on ebay for $90.

My question is, will they work on my 2002 Tacoma? And if so, are they worth it?

 

Where were you planning on putting these lights? In place of your headlights?

Ive been told the best way to go is to get projectors to focus the HID KIT better??

 

yeah dont run hids without projectors.

but i cant decide if i like the black headlights or not

 

that's what I thought too, but then I realized that DDM didn't put mine together properly, now that I fixed them, they are nice, and don't get in people's eyes.

 

Unless you aim them properly. Improperly aimed HID's are hazardous to oncoming driviers.

You can run them without projectors if you aim them correctly. They don't produce as sharp of a cutoff line, and the light is scattered more, but it's still better than stock.

The problem is that 90% of people running HID's without projectors don't aim them down enough.

Not unless you are going to mount those to a light bar or something.

The bulbs aren't the right size to fit in the stock housings, and those projector lights won't replace your current headlights obviously.

 

Dont get those they suck, trust me.. Plus you have an 02

 

if your tacoma had 7x6 light housing they would work

You just need the bulb Or in your case the hid kit

 

It's not a standard size. You would have to get projectors specifically for the Tacoma, or retrofit your stockers.

Not necessary, just aim your HID down a bit

 

I have had 8000k HIDs and 5000k HIDs in my 2001. Like the guys already said, if you aim them right, you'll be fine without having new housings.

 

Do you still get better light output then?

Also, Wolfgang, would the setup your looking to get work on mine as well?

 

My light out put it fine and a lot bette than stock, but that's just because the HIDs "grab" more light off objects. It's not like it would be if I had new housings but I'm more than happy with the out put.
