    Got up under my truck re routing my cb coax cable. I noticed this thing hanging down from the transfer case. It's held on by two bolts but seems to have no purpose. It looks like it's hanging mighty low and I'm afraid it might get caught on something on the trails and tear some junk up. I want to take it off but figured I'd see what ya'll have to say first. What is it?

    I have wondered what that thing is or a while. Hopefully someone will know! I would guess it's something to help eliminate vibration coming from your t case.

    I'm just real scared it is gonna hang up on the trails and tear up my t-case mounts or something

    Transfercase mount, if you were to have a tcase skid. just supports it like a brace...:confused: It's useless, I don't have it on my truck.

    it's not on my truck, although my transfer case is not original. i also have a swaybar going through that location

    i took mine off to clock it and fit a skid plate. essentially useless but take it off and see

    both suspension and body, i wish i never did the body lift but by the time i did, i there was so much stuff welded "around it" that i said eff it

    i had to also had to beat out the d-side floor board

    i may go wheelin next weekend and see how it behaves, if not ill leave it till i either can adjust the pinion angle or switch to tons.

    nawwanna eventually move up to tons because im afraid of breaking the tiny pinion gear. haha last time a dshaft broke on me it cost alotta money
