    Intake, exhaust, lift. Typical stuff.
Depends on what you want. Generally down travel is regarded as being better than up :notsure:. Mine are about half way.

Shackles will allow better flex than AAL, but no payload improvements. The only reason I did shackles instead of AAL is because I couldn't decide what size AAL to get. Adjustable shackles fit the bill for me.

Full ome lift, nitro charger sports all 4 corners (rear shocks relocated), Dakar pack w/ AAL, 882 coils, diff drop, toytec 1" shackles, trail gear low profile front bumper, Tuff Stuff winch, bamf sliders, RAT skids, BAMF Bed Rack, Tepui Kukenam RTT, RAT rear bumper,
Adjustable shackles @ 1.5" got me dead level with 882, so I added the Dakar aal and shackles @ 1" lift

    Edit...

    Level with no load

Looking for a hasty answer on this, as I only have 3 more weeks before bugging out on a 10-day trip to Utah.

I've combed this thread (and some in TTORA or elsewhere) and seen everything from no problem to shifted forward about an inch. It also seems to not matter year (99-04) or type (prerunner, 4x4, Xtra cab, DC, whatever).

Has anyone been able to determine what causes this at all?

I'm about to ditch my Wheeler's 5-pack in favor of the Dakars now that I have a fulltime Snugtop, 50 lb rubber bed mat, added a hidden hitch, and am towing a small camper while the bed is full of gear.

About to hit the buy button, and it would be nice if I knew I should get relocation plates just in case, and what the best source (with minimal addition lift) for these is...

    :notsure:

I have not noticed a need for relocation plates. My tires sit perfectly centered between the wheel well. Maybe the ALL has something to do with it but I don't see how that'd be.

This was the week I installed them and they still do the same.

Mine could move back a little. Just try it and see, I think that's the only real way to tell :)

Mine most definitely needs relocation plates and they are sitting in the garage waiting to be installed. The front of the fender flairs/wheel well has got a good bit of wear from rubbing at full stuff.

    Where/which plates did you get?

I forgot to mention that interestingly, the existing Wheelers 5-pack now on my truck sits a bit far back.

This is probably the best shot I have of it. I'd say roughly 1/2 or 5/8 back.

I'd have to look it up. I don't have the info where I am right now. Adam (BoxRocket) told me about the company as he had bought them from them.

I found a few online, can't remember where, with 1" and 3/4" adjustments.

that sounds right. The ones I have are 3/8" thick with two holes so the axle can have a bit of adjustment.

    3/8 isn't too bad.

~2 5/8 lift, minus cap, bed mat, and hitch. Guessing I'd be right around 2 inches empty, giving soem rake to compensate for trailer and camping loads...

EVERYONE: Still interested in pics and experience with axle offset/relocation issues...post 'em up!

I wouldn't worry about it too much unless you plan on stuffing the hell out of your tires. Mine could move back about 3/4" but hasn't torn the flares off yet :) if you need to add on later, I don't think it is too difficult.

X2. Once I go to 33s I may do it but as of now it is not an issue.

It won't be a physical problem with my current tires. More a visual issue...
Next set of tire I'll probably go up only one size anyway.

Just got off the phone with Wheelers, Dakar kit should ship today...

3" lift EIBACH coils w/ 5100's front, OME/ Dakar leaf springs w/ toytec adjustable shackles at 1.5" and 5125's out back. 33x10.5x15 KM2's Relentless DIY steel bumper.
My dakars pulled my axle forward about 1/2". I added longer shackles and it moved forward slightly more, so now it's probably about 5/8" forward from center. Once I get a topper I plan to add the AAL and I suspect it'll go even more forward. I can't find the reason for it

Compensation for the compression on the springs, they compress on a radius. Basically if the axle didn't move forward when the springs compress, the wheels would rip into the back side of the fenders. That help?

I'm spacially challenged. But yes it kind of makes sense.

Anyone use a 1/4" top plate spacer without longer studs? I hate the thought of removing coils, but... Not at the expense if my life.

I thought people might appreciate a set of detail pics of Dakars before install that show the difference in A and B sides, the preinstalled front hanger pin bushings, the antifriction pads (and interestingly, a couple spots between the top and second leaf where there is contact but no antifriction pads), the plastic anti-chafes on the leaf retaining clips, etc.

Generally, all the vendor sites selling them show generic pics of the leafpacks that are not model-specific and often don't (possibly never) even show the double overload leafs that our trucks get.

Front antichafe pads; note the lack of pad between top and next leaf. Potential source of noise.

Rear antichafe pads, and again lack between top and next

And from bottom. ARB indicates that you can actually grease the pads from below through the hole in the center of the pucks.
