Looks like I'm flying one-way from Anchorage to Santa Maria, CA Monday to pick up my new '03 Xtra Cab TRD Taco. I'm pumped! The 3,300 mile drive back to AK is going to suck, but it's worth the truck. It's only got 61,000 miles on it and is exactly what I've been looking for. Had a couple sold out from under me, this deal looks like it's going through. I'm selling my 2000 Shorty today, so I'm going to be waking to work for a few days, but it will be well worth it.

Anyone else have a crazy story about buying their taco?

Perhaps, you'll actually enjoy your new ride on the way back and the trip won't be so bad.

Yeah BC will be an adventure. I'm hoping it's no worse than Nov 2009 when my wife and I drove up. I was in an '05 F-150 screw then, snow packed and icy roads then, I'm sure it will be the same now. The plus is there is more daylight now than in November. I'll enjoy the new ride for sure on the way up. I can't wait. Now I just want to find a supercharger for it. That's kind of pushing my luck though.

I drove my taco 2000 miles to get it home last spring. Sure was worth it though. An '03 with 28,000 miles and only $8k.

Damn, how did you find the truck in Santa Maria of all places? I grew up there and live 30 miles north in San Luis Obispo. Kinda random, but have fun on your drive back!

Salvage title? If not, that seller you got it from must have been idiotic.

To the OP....awesome! the drive will be lots of fun! I flew one way to get mine, and pushed 700 miles to get back home and was still itching to drive it once I got back. You outta get your fill. Hopefully gas prices don't leave you stranded! Pics asap....

Oil changes for sure! It's a 3000 mile trip.

jobrien, I'd love to stop and break it in but I will be pretty pressed for time. Was last time I came up too, pisses me off. Hopefully when my time is up here the wife and I will be able to take our time getting to our next place.

mikracer, they gentlman I'm buying it from had it up on traderonline. I'd been watching it and craigslist like a fucking stalker so I was lucky enough to be the first caller.
