I got a brushguard, like the one on my truck now, that has two holes for mounting lights for sale.

Protection and light mounting. Problem solved!

i have one as well. While yes it hold lights...i would disagree with you on protection. If you hit anything then the bushbar is just gonna fold over ontop of the truck haha it has no bracing for the top part at all. just connected at the bottom. Why i am going to go elite plate..

There's a reason it's called a "brush guard" and not a "tree guard" or "post guard"

I actually slammed into a car that cut in front of me with it. Just bent it back a little and dented my fender but tore the whole front end off the other vehicle...
His insurance paid for a new fender and brush guard and I was good to go.

After sort of attaching it back on with the broke clips and bungee so he could drive it home (also the corner of my truck is the side that hit him and no noticeable damage)

Us people with the 99's are almost out of luck for light bars :(. I'm guessing it's because of a lack of places to bolt to. I'm thinking of building one in the future, and I think I'll use the mounting location Finks99Taco mentioned...either that or bolt it between the recovery hooks and the frame.

Hmmm... the price is the same as the Defiant. At least it looks different. Kind of an almost brush/bull bar.

    NO BULL BAR! :goingcrazy:

I think that I have come to the conclusion that my best option may be to see if I can't get one fabbed up at a local shop...I will be checking into that next week.

If I ever get my own built maybe I could sell them for the 97-99's

Actually the front ends on the 95-97 models are a little different from the 98-00 and the 01-04 are different too. That's why I'm having issues finding something that fits my truck - there are options out there for the 95-97 and for the 01-04 but virtually nothing for the 98-00.

From what I can gather the bumper changed just enough with each update to the model that they are not interchangable. The distance from the frame mounts through the grill and clear of the bumper is different (if the bars are to be mounted like the nfab, defiant, etc)

    Oh it's 98-00, not 97-99. Got it.

*looks like a sway bar, lol did he just mount his sway bar as a lightbar? lol.....wait, that IS a sway bar setting there next to the light bar*

So it just stuck straight out then correct? If so, how did it look?
