They were never an SR5, it was a pckage just like it is now on a Tacoma. They were called 'Pickup' like I stated before, I currently own one, I had one before this one, I love them but they are not Tacomas.

OP why are you so butt hurt about this? No one has said anything negative to you just that the different trucks are different trucks.

And if you still don't believe me old man I challenge you to look up any VIN number from that generation of truck in any software and see that you will always get 'pickup' as the result. Or trying looking at a parts catalog and see that under pickup there are a different trim levels, one of them being SR5.

Prove me wrong I dare you.

I have owned three pre-Tacomas (and still have one) and none of them are SR5's. It was the horse with no name. So I called them Bob (Beast Of Burden). The new one is Robert (still have Bob III so Robert doesn't become Bob IV) . SR5 was and still is an option package. The TRD package includes the SR5 package.

P.S. T100's and Tundra's also have SR5's as well as cars.

    ALL OF THEM!...Then some more.
Ive owned and driven two toyota pickups. An 86 with a 4 speed auto, and an 87 with a 5spd manual. Both had the 22re. GREAT trucks. Loved them. Lots of character in them. However...NOTHING like my tacoma. they are VERY VERY different.

My first truck was a 93 pickup 22re I got for $200 when I was 15. Had collapsed control arms and lots o rust. Rebuilt it all through high school and I LOVE it. It's still goin strong. And it is called and was registered as a 'pickup'. Not tacoma. I hilux. Or sr5.
