What radio.

What radio fits in a 2000 Tacoma. I was given a radio and was told that it would fit the Tacoma but it doesn't.

First the center setup is too small and there is no way to fit the radio into the bezel.

Anyone know the answer?

I u/l a pic of the radio, hope it comes thru.

that looks like a tacoma radio too me. i have know idea why it doesn't fit. try looking up the model number to see if indeed it is a tacoma radio and not from a camry or something.

Where do you look up this info. While the radio does appear to fit in the dash, the center cluster finish bezel is obviously not make to accommodate this unit.

I am not to sure about factory radios but it looks like that radio is not out of a Tacoma. Usually you cannot interchange radios in cars unless they are the same models. Fore example a radio from a Tacoma will not fit a 4 runner. If I were you, I would invest in an aftermarket radio. You will have to get an installation kit unless you get a double-din, but aftermarket radios are usually more dependable and you get way better sound.

The difference is that Tacomas and 4Runners are not the same. Even though they resemble eachother, they do have differences. Like you mentioned, the one you have doesnt go into the bezel. That is because the dash is not exactly the same in Tacomas than 4runners. Usually 4Runners have extra wiring and other electronics behind the dash, so they make the dash more open to accomadate the extra equipment.

do you have an after market radio in the now if so it might have a kit to make the opening smaller for a non din type radio just a thought
