Can't seem to find the specific answer to my question (Maintenance)

Good evening everybody! I'd like to start off by saying I've tried a ton of different searching on this forum using all kinds of search terms, I've searched through the how-to's, the 1st Gen Taco Forums, etc. I still can't find the answers I'm looking for.

I've got a 2002 Taco TRD 4x4 6cyl. I purchased the truck middle of last year, and aside from basic maintenance (oil, oil filters, air filters) I want to do some more in depth stuff to take care of it.

I've found a ton of great info on this forum so far (timing belt part numbers, the associated write-ups, etc) but have a couple of questions regarding the following:

Gear oil (80w-90) for the transfer case? Is this the same fluid used for the differentials? I know the fill levels are identified by their respective fill holes, but what is the actual quantity of fluid I should purchase (# of qts?)

-Transmission Fluid? 4qt? What type?

-Spark Plugs - Either Denso or NGK with a .44 gap - Do I need to replace anything else with the plugs, or is it literally just the plugs.

transfer case....and front diff....use 75w90 gear oil....and same for the rear...will not hurt a thing. i think your transmission takes dex/merc 3.......and with a drain and fill its roughly 4 quarts.....and spark plugs...either denso or ngk...gap .040 to .043

 

i second the 75w90 gear oil in the diffs and transfer case. i was told this by a number of mechanics. the first gens like this weight rather than the heavier 80w90.

Is there anything I need to purchase along with the spark plugs or is it just the plugs I need?

 

Plugs alone should be fine....but mileage dependent.......may not hurt to replace the wires/distributor cap/rotor while you are at it. Try just the plugs and see how it runs though....be sure to use a small amount of anti-seize on the threads.
