resolving rust issue on rear bumper with herculiner?

    So my chrome rear bumper has cracked openings around the ball mount hole. I can wipe the rust down, but whenever it rains, rust will pour out of the crack. The crack has been

    I wonder if I can apply a thick layer of herculiner over these cracks and resolve it for good?

    id sand er all down first and prep it real good then herculine it. it would ensure better adhesion and make er last longer.

    I have the exact same problem but mine is too far gone to save. I wish I could have caught it earlier.
