33x9.5-15 on a stock taco?

I have 31x10.5 right now but want something bigger without losing all my gas mileage. I have a set of 33x12.5 that fit but rub when turning so i figured a 33x9.5 would work well for ground clearance and not kill my mileage due to less contact with the ground. Any suggestions would b appreciated.

check this calculator out....just type in the the current size, then the size you wanna run, and you can check the differences......

Well i dont think it will effect my mileage bad now will they deffinetly fit? anybody try it with flexing and stuff?

i was gonna mount them on the stock alloys. They re only an inch narrower so i didnt think it would look that weird that why i wanted to see if someone else has done it to tll me the flaws

I was looking at the 9.5's when I lifted, and people told me they'd look wierd, so I got 33-10.5's. Have you shopped around for that size? Might be a hard one to find. I thing BFG is the only one that makes them, but I could be wrong.

well im all about function and not so much looks. I work at a ski slope so i drive 75 miles one way to work. 9.5's will prob turn better and less rubber on the road means more mpg. Plus narrower will give me better snow traction since i havve t drive up there in foot dumps lol

i had the 32 q0.5 then had a blow out so for my temp fix i went with 32 9.5 looks horrible i absolutley hate looking at my truck right now just to let you know once you see the nice wide tires its hard to do skinny

If you've gotta have 33's - then definately get the 10.50's. In the offroad world...the 9.50's are referred to as *PIZZA CUTTERS*
Nothing wrong with them - if that's what you want.

BTW - the width (9.5, 10.50) isn't gonna change your mpg by much at all.

Going from 31" tire to a 33" tire - will make a BIGGER difference in Mpg. Not only that - but your speedometer & mileage will be off and you could lose some power with the stock gearings.

i dont HAVE to have 33's but they look better and could possibly help when hunting, working in the woods, ect. i mean a 32 would be inbetween and still b better right? Any suggestions in a tire or combo would b nice

FWIW, my 33/10.5 had very little affect on the fuel mileage, but, there were only 2 companies that made the size. BFG and TSL(super swampers). I paid about $600 for BFG AT KO's mounted and balanced. I got them discounted because they were ever-so-slightly used. I got them locally, not online.

i have continentials that are the exact same tire as the BFG AT and they are alright. I can get whatever i want in the 31x10.5 but i would like to go the 33x10.5 route if my truck will clear them fine. Its a stock 95.5' so i think it will but need someone who has tried it and driven it ya know. If it didnt effect your gas mileage alot i doubt it will mine because i haul trailers that dont effect it so.

the 33 will not fit on the stock set up i went to put 32s on mine and they barely cleared

why are you so worried about them working with stock setup? a 1" front lift costs like $40 for spacers and rear would be fine or can add a 1" lift block... heck a 2"-3" spacer lift for front can be had for $50-75 on ebay sometimes.. if you go with off brand tire you could afford the lift and still be cheaper than new BFG's

Well live in a small town and had a ranger with 38's so i have multiple inspection tickets form everycop aaround so getting a valid inspection is my main concern. Maine title 29A states no spacers between coils and i never liked body lifts so im trying to keep it stock. wheel spacers or ofset rims would work but i have always tried to keep drivetrain geometry stock or close to as posilbe . Its a flaw i have lol.

yeah i think the type they dont want are those screw in ones that blow out and can hurt some one... heck for 3" lift the spacer is only 1" 9/16 thick or so.. really a good looking spacer painted chassis black would probably go un-noticed my almost any cop and a 1" bock is cheap at advance auto or auto zone.. i dunno man I personally dont like the 33x9.50s 33x10.50 would be ok...but with the height you probably are still going to lose alittle mpg and power...not much but some... I think you could probably stick a 33x10.50 on a factory rim but then they might rub on the frame at full turn in the back due to the backspacing... without the backspacing though they will rub the fenders like your 12.50's did
