Wet Okole seat covers. How hard could it be?

Just ordered a pair of Wet Okole front seat covers and was wondering how hard it is to put these awesome things on? They should be here soon and id like to know exactly what to do so I can jump right on it.

 

First time, give yourself at least 2.5 hours.

 

Unbolt the seats, makes it easy

 

When I had my Tacoma it took me about 30 minutes total, front and rear. I don't understand why it takes people so long but whatever. They slip right on, the hardest part is buckling the straps in tight space (under your seat) and adjusting the straps to make sure they're tight. Never had to remove the seats or anything either.

However Long it ends up taking you, just know the results are some bad ass seats.

Also, they smell like wet suit for a couple weeks. Some people are totally fine with it, it made me nauseous and gave me a headache. you can try spraying some febreeze on them to help get rid of the smell. It works a little bit but don't expect for the smell to disappear if you use it.

 

Remove the seats, it makes it easier and it is a good opportunity to clean under them.

 

Leave the seats in, and remove every other part of the truck

What's the best way to install them in the rear of an access cab? The long piece that goes over the back part has straps that are suppose to go around the back of the seat back, but the seat back is attached to the cab. I couldn't see any screws to remove it either. How do you take it off to get the cover on?

 

Are you trying to remove the two seat cushions in the rear?

If so I think you can just pop those plastic covers off the sides then remove the bolts that hold the cushion to the bracket. (I'm trying to go off memory here when I disassembled my interior).

If not you can spend the 5 minutes it takes to remove the upper trim panel, the cushion on the back wall and the large rear wall panel. Then you can access the bolts that hold the entire seat assembly to the rear wall of your cab.

 

How do I go about doing this? Trying to get the cushion on the back wall off.

 

Trying to remember off the top of my head...

Remove that upper trim piece that runs along the top of the cushion. It's held in by 4 or 5 clips.

Once you pop that off, I think there are 3 bolts holding that cushion on.

After that you can then pry off the large plastic panel. I think there's like 10 or so clips holding that puppy in place.

After that you can remove the rear quarter panels, rear seats, etc...

 

You can replace the transfer case,Engine Flush, and tranny Oil...but you can't figure out how to put on a wet'Okle on ? An Hour and half for both seats and first-timer.....

dude its sooooo easy to do on our '01's . seriously, take off the head rest, slip them on and strap them tight. that. is. it.

edit: above comment was for the OP and I didn't see the date. I have no experience w/ the rears

 

The OP posted this question back in 2011. I'm pretty sure he has installed them by now.

 

I thought that was the only way to do it.
