Wax, polish, or both? What brand?

Hey everyone, to those of you who like to keep your Tacoma's (or any vehicle) in pristine condition, do you use polish, wax, or both? What brands do you use and how often do you apply it?

The red paint on my '97 is still shining, and I'm trying to keep it that way!

I polish every year to year and a half. I use the Menzerna line of polishes.

After polishing I throw on 5 coats of Zaino, a sealant, followed by 2 coats of Fuzion, a wax.

I sort of OCD on the stuff.

I wash regularly, and wax about every six months with meguiars tech wax. I used to work in parts and tried pretty much every brand of wax carried in o'reillys stores and this was the brand that produced the best finished product. At least IMO. I would imagine professional grade stuff would probably do a better job though.

How long is the Tech wax lasting for you. The original Tech Wax only lasted 2 weeks. Megs went back into the lab and came out with Tech Wax 2. I honestly have not tried Tech Wax 2.

Clay bar the truck twice a year, then the three steps. Truck looks amazing!

 

If you are doing your Tacoma by hand the Mothers system is the way to go. The final step Carnuba wax will last an honest 6 weeks.

 

I use Adams detailing stuff. I clay bar, swirl and haze remover then revive polish then the buttery wax, its sooo beautiful when your done!

I do a Wash/clay with chemicals guys and dodo juice. Then I move on to polishing with a DA applying Megs 105/205 (Pads vary from surbuf to foam). Then I apply a sealant usually black magic but sometimes Poorboys. I do that fall/spring.

 

How do you like the Dodo Juice? Does it last 3 months or more?

I have never used it but I might try to catch it on sale this summer.

whenever i use tech wax water will bead for months after, and the next few washes the truck will look like it just got waxed
