Axle shift?

It appears that the passenger side rear axle has shifted on my truck? I thought the leaf springs had a pin in them that held the axle in the right spot? Is this as easy to fix as loosening the u bolts and taking some measurements and put it back in the right spot or more complicated than that? pics....

 

measure the gap between the cab and the bed (the bed might need adjustment)

 

Bed measurements are the same both sides.

 

I've gotthe same issue but should be solved soon with a new leaf pack. I'm thinking that because the stock Toyota leafs are so weak and are prone to axle wrap they shift back a bit after so many years

 

Make sure you don't have a broken leaf in the pack.

Yeah they're a little tired after 195,xxx miles. Lol. Funny thing is when I bought the truck new the truck has always sat level instead of up just a bit in the back. I'm going to check the leafs Thursday at work and try to center it back up then. Thanks for the replies i'll updat thursday when I get it apart and see what's going on in there.

 

The pin is a bolt that holds the leaves together. Most axles use that pin to locate center. It's odd that the setback is even. I don't think its the pins. Take a close look at the leaf mounting points.

 

I remember reading someplace that its normal for rear axle to sit back a bit in the 1st gen Tacomas, can't remember where though.

 

It's not showing as good in the pics but the drivers side (second pic) is even front to back in wheel well. The passenger side (top pic) is the one that is sitting back some. I'll check everything that was mentioned when I check it. Thanks guys!
