Well it keeps leaking and its pissing me off! I put a new gasket in and it did no good and I also tried permetex and it failed aswell. How much do you think it would cost me to have a muffler shop just remove the bolt together part and weld in a straight pipe?

I have so many exhaust leaks ear plugs don't even help haha. I thought about making a sleeve and welding over the area that is leaking. Instead of just completely straight piping it..

no it won't, but a muffler shop could fill the hole with weld for cheap. I would do it for free if you were local.

That would work if the hole is extremely small, like basically a pinhole because the rust will have thinned the metal around the hole.

to be honest, some high temp RTV or JB weld might even work for a while.

i say either weld over the hole, or straight pipe it, welding is fast and much cheaper

try some jb like steve o said. as far as welding rusty exhaust you can forget about that. i have an old plow truck for my yard , you can get some good muffler dope from your local napa. it works for me but its not permenant.
