Damn, I just scrolled through this page and now realize just how bulletproof these trucks are. Just about to hit 175k. Previous owner didn't take care of it properly so it needs a lot of work done to it. Looking to be able to keep this truck around for a while :)

My 2001 DC just passed 325,000... Bought it at 62k in 2004, blew the AT at 140k, had a few issues here and there (some still not sorted out: electrical issue with the horn and hazards, rear drums frozen and keep freezing after lubed, etc). It's a daily driver with a long highway commute, doesn't see any real wheeling, and only a little off road. Overall love this truck and will buy another. Been having an internal debate whether to go with a 2nd gen or stay with the 1st gen, but crossing my fingers that I won't have to cross that bridge for a long time.

As someone prior said, this thread is worthless without pics, and the interwebz can always use more Tacoma porn, so here goes.

Heavy lifting, but still fun work, Bolton, Mass

Being a good sport and enduring me and my old man's mechanical and bodywork prowess (maybe lack of), Newton, Mass
    [IMG]

Chillin at a spontaneous Taco party, Pinkham Notch, NH. Truck on the right has 226k and the truck on the left had 320k when I last checked, probably easily over 350k now...

Dont get rid of it. Yes the 2nd gen has more features but the engine and transmission will never be as bulletproof as ours. I've got to get a MAJOR tune up (doing it myself so I'm just starting) with 176k miles and it still runs strong. I've hauled more weight than I should and towed more weight than I should, I usually am hard on it as well. Even kept up with a Porsche Cayenne haha.

I realized I posted in the wrong thread about my mileage.. IMG_34526870935274_65070be4e0316e5087736461df25be0d2566f121.jpg NCM_1324_9672fc42c8e935ebb68640af9495e1f5b40235f0.jpg
I drive it to work every day and haul around a Honda Foreman in the bed a couple times a month.

My 2000 just hit the 3 century mark, couldn't be happier, she cost me $16,500.00 out the door, not a bad investment. I have done less than $1500 in upkeep not including general tune ups. New starter, shocks and struts is it. IMO the key was open freeway driving most of the time, not a lot of city stop n go driving at all.

The only vehicle I've gone over 300k on was my 73 International Harvester Scout II. Of course, it got rebuilt about every 75k so there wasn't a damn thing on that engine that was original when I got rid of it.

The plan for the taco will take it over 300k and my last two kids learning to drive on it. I've got two rides over 200k right now and traded in a beemer that I put almost 150k on it in three years for my new truck.

bought my taco a year ago and the odometer was dead at 248k (Speedo cable was/still is broken) and previous owner said Speedo died 3 years prior so I would guess she's somewhere near the 300k mark. It came from a farm so it hadn't had an easy life and it showed. The suspension all the way around was toast but aside from the bed floor and the tailgate the body is surprisingly straight. Had to rebuild the hole front susp. Just to get it road worthy, every bushing and joint in the front end was toast. It hasn't had an easy ride over the last year either as its my wheelin/hunting rig and I'm not afraid to get after it, but that little 3rz is still purring away.

I have a 2000 Tacoma, lifted, 4 inch lift 33x12.50 tires, everything else is stock and 248xxx miles, had it for 8 years, this thing is bullet proof, wondering when I am going to break-in my engine, hell the engine can probably run on used cooking oil

Can't say I'm in the Tacoma 300k club yet, but did have a volvo 240 with 318k when I sold it, so I've seen the 3 on the first digit of an odo before :p Taco is at 173k and runs excellent, Id like to get at least 250k out of it. Ive done all the basic maintenance except for the valve shims and timing chain that I'm absolutely dreading. But the way I look at it, is that if the F250 5.4 at my work that has 435k on the original motor and trans being fleet "maintained" I should be able to get to at least the mid 250s if rust doesn't get to it first.

At the amount of miles I drive yearly, my 2015 Taco will hit 300k in late 2020/early 2021. It just had Its 35k service last week.

My wife's car is a hair under 200k right now and my daughter's car is a hair over 200k.

Most mileage I've ever had on a vehicle was my 73 International Harvester Scout II. That baby had 383k on it when I sold it.

I only have 220,000 miles, and it makes me sad that I don't drive it enough anymore to hit 300k. Maybe a quarter million... in about 3-4 years.

    Love this truck.

Not to burst your bubble, boys, but I was just talking to an uncle of mine who is a courier here in Michigan. He said he had over 500K on his Solara before he lost his transmission!! His mechanic bought it off him for $500, replaced the transmission and has it back on the road. The engine is still running strong! The only maintenance ever done to it was scheduled maintenance.

353000 miles. Replaced auto trans at 275000 due to bad sensor. Original engine. Still wheel it hard and wouldn't hesitate to drive cross country in it.

Just bought this yesterday from a gentleman who bought it with 15k on it. I bought it with 317k on it. Only reason I did is how super clean it was. No rust at all on body except some on the steel bumpers. Frame and underneath super clean and bone dry. Only thing you could tell was used on the interior was the drivers seat. Carpet doesn't even have any stains or real wear. Paid 5,500. Think it was a good buy? What do you think I could get for it in 6 months?

Just purchased mine @ 319K miles. Needed a front wheel bearing, front brakes and a radiator. Runs like a top, no leaks or drips anywhere and according to Carfax I'm the 4th owner. Was originally a Cali truck and spent the last 10 years in Tennessee. Turns out it has been serviced for years at the same dealer we bought our Prius. I'm happy.
