Post-Lift Mileage decline?? What's your experience?

    I just finished installing new shocks/springs on all four corners of my truck. Old Man Emu Nitrocharger Sports all round. 881s in the front. I got more than 3 inches out of the upgrade, which tells me how worn out my OEM shocks were. (The ride, by the way, is much stiffer and I'm not used to it yet. It definitely feels like a truck now.)

    But my mileage at 2000 rpms/54mph declined from +/-24 mpg to 22.8 mpg.

    Did anyone else notice a change in their mileage after you switched out your suspension too?

    It was my tire size that made me lose mileage. Going to 33's is what did it (lost about 2mpg). Now that I have 270 lbs of armor, I've lost a little bit more but haven't calculated it out yet (seems to be about another 2mpg so far because my daily commute is almost all flat). Soon to add another 70 lbs of armor for the rear bumper.

    Damn JLee. I'm kinda new here, but I can't go ANYWHERE without seeing a you post a pic, and it makes me INSTANTLY jealous. My wallet's begging you to stop! :spy: :D

    And for the OP, I didn't have any change in mileage with the lift, it mainly comes with the new tires. Wider/heavier = less mpg. The type of tire tread you get'll also affect your mileage.

    I went from 17-19 on 235/65 Michelin LTX AT2's to 15-17 on 265/75 BFG KM2s

    Drive like I got a glass bottle with the cure for cancer under my gas now...

    It has nothing to do with you being new. You see Jerry has a gigantic fucking money tree in his living room. Not just any money tree. No sir. He has a rare carnivores money tree. Miracle grow will not do to feed that bitch. All that armour you see, that is completely tactical. Think of it as an EOTech for a Tacoma (which...quite honestly I'm suprised he has not installed yet). He runs over cats, dogs, lemurs, penguins, squirrels, yaks, anything to feed that damn money tree and keep the mods going. Hell one time I watched him hit a mud puddle and he drove home with a seahorse and a pelican in the bed. Quite the viscous cycle. I mean lets be honest, he doesn't keep the SLR in the truck to get chicks.
