So I'm thinking about getting new rims, but was told that which rims would fit depends upon which brake calipers Toyota put on my 04 Tacoma. Apparently a lot of the 04 Tacoma's had the newer brake calipers that they put on the 05 Tacoma's - and if that's the case (they're supposedly bigger/wider), it changes which rim will fit on my truck.

Does anyone know how to tell the difference?

    Thanks!

Not entirely true. There are two different calipers available on the 04 Tacomas. The standard caliper and there's a larger caliper. The larger caliper option ONLY came on 2004's and ONLY if you have the VSC option. The VSC is VERY rare.

If you're not sure if you have VSC, crawl under the back of your truck and look for the rubber brake line that runs from the hardline on the drivers side frame to the the axle. If you have 1 rubber brake line, you have a normal Tacoma like the rest of us. If you have 2 brake lines, you have the VSC option.
