'02 Automatic Trany Fluid Capacity

I have an '01 3.4 Automatic Prerunner and want to change the tranny fluid. Seems pretty simple. My question is how much do you put in after you drain iti? 4, 5, 6 quarts? Thank you.

when i drained my 04.....it was about 5 quarts or so(but then again....i dropped the pan and cleaned the filter too), so yours may not be quite that much. i would get 5 quarts of the toyota type t-iv(t4) to be on the safe side.

when i did mine, i drained everything into a mobil1 5 quart jug, and it was right near the top of that when i dropped my pan to clean the filter.

Does the automatic transmission have a fill bolt or do you pour it in from the dipstick hole?

Thats odd we are so far apart.

Baja your safe buying more than you need for the transmission b/c if you dont use it all you can do the differential.
