Just got a grease gun and would like to grease the zerks on my 04 4wd. I know I need to get nlgi 2 grade grease but I'm a little confused because from my reading on here it seems that I need to purchase two different type of grease? Lithium for the u joints and moly for everything else? Is this correct or can I just use one type of grease for the whole thing. Seems like a real hassle if I have to use two different types.

Hitch and wiring, aux back-up light, rear strobe lights, radio and underseat sub.
Make sure you purge all the other base-type of grease from the joint. They do not get along.

FWIW, i've been using lucas red 'n tacky for all driveline zerks for several years (~70K miles) no problems at all. Still all original joints.

Bought some Royal Purple 01312 Ultra Performance Grease today. Going to try it out in a few days when the gun arrives.

Found your old post in a search, figured I'd ask how you feel about the royal purple after a year and a half? Doing front end work on my 1 ton Ford and thinking of using the same grease for new ball joints, rod ends, and bearings.
