My 04 (3.4 L) consistently gets 20 MPG and I don't drive conservatively. Unless you just want a CAI, look up the deck plate mod, same results as a CAI, much less $$. I did it and did not see any real results in MPG.

I just drove about 500 miles over the weekend with my family and loaded for the weekend in our '01 modded dbl cab and got just over 19mpg with the air on and a mix of highway and city driving. Just my .02.

I avg 18 but I drive 12 miles a day no faster then 45 mph on Post. I did get a UltraGauge which helped with my driving habits and thus I saw a slight increase.

I've gotten up to 20 MPG with mine. Most of the time I get 18 to 19 though. Stock intake.

I get 17-18 mpg w/ mixed driving no matter how soft / aggressive I drive. I am running a stock intake and 265/65r17 General Grabber HTS tires.

    You should get the truck!
    I always get 19-20 mpg.

Don't waste your $$$ on a CAI, do the deck plate mod!

The most I've ever gotten is 19.2mpg. That's with some city and freeway (65 - 75mph) every day. I haven't done the deckplate mod yet, but I want to see how my mpgs stabilize after the maintenance I just did last week.

If mpgs are your concern, get a civic or prius or something. The most I've ever even heard of is 25mpg for first gens.

My 98 ext cab averages 20 mpg. That's mostly city driving too.
