    i've been searching for a "how-to" on these, and noticed it's not in the "how-to" thread

    lots of threads for 2nd gens but no 1st gens

    OME 881, Nitrochargers front and rear, diff drop, Wheelers 3 Leaf AAL, Supertop, shitty brush guard and a hole in the muffler
    same concept. crack open the filler plug (make sure your wrenching the correct bolt). remove the drain plug (again correct bolt). if you like, use a new crush washers and put drain plug back in. fill it up and put fill plug back in.

    Yup,

    just drain and fill like you would with an engine. Check your owners manual for the correct fluid capacites.

    The "fill" part can be pretty tricky as the way everything is designed gravity works against you. I'd invest in a little pump to pump the new oil in.

    Just finished doing this so I thought I would chime in

    I did the fluid change on the transmission, transfer case, and rear differential. I would have done the front, but the drain plug was a different size than the diy write ups noted for. The fill is 10mm, but the drain plug must be 12mm or so.

    I used Redline MT 90 for the Transmission, and Redline
    $30 75W-90 Synthetic Gear Lube - 1 Quart (Pack of 2)
    75W-90 for everything else. I also greased the driveshafts while I was under there.

    In hindsight, it would have been nice to get the whole truck up on jack stands.. it was pretty cramped. Maybe I need a lift kit.. lol

    Yours should be 10mm based on the model year.
