What's the comparison of a tube bumper compared to the stock bumpers that these tacomas come with from the factory? Will a tube bumper be stronger and more protective than a stock bumper? I don't want to lose any protection if I'm in a collision and plate bumpers are out of the question because of cost and weight.

a properly built tube bumper is designed for "nerfing" or rear ending other trucks out in the desert...

i have accidentally backed into a wall with my rear tube bumper while parking and chipped off a good sized piece of the plaster...

i once rear ended a mini van at 20mph that stopped suddenly in front of me at an intersection... nothing happened to my bumper, but the van rear door was destroyed and sent the van lunging about half a car length forward...

I've always said color match bumpers look the best........ My point is in this pic right here. When I build my taco bumper she will be the same silver as the truck :D............ That is a niiiiiiiice bumper right there

Obviously it's not going to crumple as well but the protection, as far as the truck goes, is improved. I was involved in a 4 car accident (mustang rear ended truck, which hit me, then I hit a car) at about 30 mph+. Though its a rear bumper (I only barely hit the car with my front) it made quite a difference.

My truck with only slight tailgate damage

The truck, the damage went all the way up into his door.

But the energy does have to go somewhere, so it went into me and probably the frame. Both were fine lol
