Does anyone know anything about the 93 DLX models. I had one pop up for sale near me and I want to check it out.

I had a '92 before upgrading to my Tacoma. It was a great truck, if a bit underpowered. It was 16 years old, and had over 200K miles on it, when I sold it. It still ran well and didn't burn a drop of oil, while averaging about 18MPG. Aside from routine maintenance, I think the only repairs I ever did were a new fuel pump and a rear wheel seal.

I have a 92 DLX in addition to my first Gen. Great trucks and 22re is an incredible engine. Mine has 190,000 miles and still going strong. If I were to buy one today I would check the following:

    1. see if timing chain was replaced (big DIY job) (expensive to have done)
    2. Body rust
    3. Suspension sag
    4. oil burning (most likely valve seals)

    Hope this helps. Bazz
