I lost track thousands of dollars ago.

The Toytec Eibach coils give over 3" of lift how much lift did you put in the back? you might have the spring perches upside down.

Like everyone else said, post a pic of your setup so we can see what's up.
My 5100/toytec combo was installed with the 5100s set to the top setting, and the ride was exactly how you describe yours is.

    OK Here are some photos

As you can see, the truck is up a little in the front, but other than that its pretty level. I should clarify that the rear AAL are actually 2.5" on paper, and the truck originally had a a 2.5" leveling kit in the front, and it sagged a little in the rear to begin with.

Pic #2 shows the left UCA as its stands right now. It is stretched a bit, but its about the same as when it had the leveling kit.

Pic #3 shows the whole assembly from behind. The shocks are set at the highest setting.

Pic #4 shows the gap between the bump stop and the frame, about 2.5"

The shop said they'll reset the front shocks for free, my question is whether to take it down to the stock setting or perhaps just the middle setting, so that the front end stays fairly level with the rear. I imagine dropping it down even one notch should help the ride.

Yep. In the last picture you can see the grooves for the 5100s, and you have yours set at the top setting. As of now, you're probably getting 6 inches of lift in the front- take it back and get it fixed ASAP so that you don't kill your UCAs and cvs

Edit: us 1st gen guys can't use the eibach/toytec coils with the 5100s set to anything but stock, or it gives tooooo much lift. Have the shop set it to the stock bottom setting and the ride will improve 1000000000x

Yep, they're on the wrong setting. You're CV angles are BAD. It actually looks a tad nose high to me. You could measure from hub center to fender on both the front and rear to see if it is in fact higher.

YOU DEFINITELY NEED TO GET THEM RESET ASAP.

And get it realigned. They should do all of this for free since they f-ed it up to begin with.

couple more photos, and thanks for the advice guys

Pic#1 from the front, I don't think its got 6" of lift, but maybe 4", maybe you guys can tell from the pic.

Pic #2 Closeup of the perch.

Pic #3 Closeup of the UCA joint, she is squeezed pretty good. I pointed it out to the shop and they said it wasn't anything serious. Perhaps they are idiots. The CV's aren't too bad, no worse than they were before with the leveling kit, probably because of the diff drop.

I'm gonna take it back in on monday, until then I'm gonna avoid driving it. Aside from the potential damage to the UCA's and CV joints, could there have been any damage to the spings and shocks themselves from being in this position?

Your geometry is way off and your parts are severely stressed. When you take it to get fixed, avoid the highway (if possible), avoid sharp cornering, and avoid any and all bumps you can.

Shouldn't be, unless you take it offroading... Mine ended up being undamaged (thankfully)

The coils give a little over 3 inches without a plate bumper...me and Jlee both got around 3.5 inches at first- but you have that AND the extra 2.5 from the shock settings

Once again, thanks for the advice guys. I feel like a retard. I guess I thought the shocks would come in the stock setting, and maybe the shop didn't know any better. I should have mentioned something to them about it. Oh well, hopefully nothing is fucked up. TBH when I bought the truck it already had the leveling kit installed and the front end was more toed in than it is now. It also rode like shit before, with a really jarring ride. Now it rides smoother but bouncier, if that makes any sense. Anyways, yeah the shop will adjust the height for free, and i'm gonna get it aligned afterward. I just hope the front end doesn't drop too low, or else I might have to change out the rear AAL too :(

its okay dude everyone makes mistakes and you live and learn.

and yeah the ass end will be a litle higher, you could think aout a back bumper. or maybe a spare tire rack in the rear, it will help alot.:)

Same thing happened to me. And the shop that did the install for me the first time seemed to know their stuff...the guy's eyes lit up when I started naming off all of the parts that I was putting on my truck so I thought I was in good hands. Wrong.

They ended up messing up the front end and underestimated the time they needed to do the install so they kept my truck overnight. Then after all the waiting and it was wrong?!?! :annoyed: And they refused to fix it without charging me so I walked out the door and over to another shop. The guys there reinstalled the front shocks and redid my alignment...they ended up charging me like $100 which was much less than the original shop wanted to fix their own mistake! In the end the 2nd shop won out as I made my tire purchase through them 6 months later.

A tiny bit of rear rake never hurt nobody! It's actually what I was trying to go for, but the eibach's leveled it out...You'll love the ride compared to spacers once the bounce goes away, it's literally night and day!

And don't feel bad. I made the same mistake a while back.... These pics were from a thread exactly like this one...

You need Rock Stars and a monster decal for your hood.
