Concerned about trd purchase

Hey all, I am buying a 03 taco supposed TRD. The guy said it has a locking diff but when i ran the VIN it doesn't actually say TRD any where in the write up. I haven't seen it in person yet to check for button etc... should the VIN decoder actually say TRD or no? VIN is 5TEWN72N23Z243522

 

Where are you checking the VIN/What does the write up say??

A straight decoder won't tell you anything form the VIN but if you are checking against a Toyota database or whatever-It might say something...but not really sure.

NO. Remember TRD is an option, it's not like it's a special edition vehicle i.e. (Cobra, STi) so it will not show up in a VIN check. Even my WRX STi doesn't show STi when you bring up the VIN, it shows up as an Impreza WRX. If it has the E-locker button on the console it's a 99% surity that it has the TRD option.

 

That is why I wanted to see it

 

The truck is in Georgia. I'm on deployment right now and my wife is back home for the duration (south carolina) so they are picking truck up in the morning. I just posted pics and info in the new members area. thanks for the info guys. Really putting my mind at ease
