Slave Cylinder- I had no idea.

I had no idea that the slave cylinder could be greased under the boot. I had this horrible ringing noise that would only go away if I pushed in the clutch, and it was embarrassing. I tried greasing where the rod hits the fork with moly grease and it never worked. Until I recently went to grease it again. I moved the rod off of the fork and I discovered that the boot slips off the cylinder and that the rod just sits in a slot in the piston. I greased it with a tiny bit of synthetic grease with moly and replaced the rod and boot. I re- greased the fork and rod and it is silent!!!


I just never had the time to figure it out. It was super annoying.
