Magnaflow vs. FLowmaster, Can't Decide

I know this question has been discussed many times but I still can't find a straight answer either way. I have recently done the the deck plate mod and changed to a K&N filter in my 2.7 4 banger and the mpgs have gone up 3-5 and the engine is noticably deeper and louder sounding.

I have been wanting to upgrade my muffler for a long time now because standing right next to the stock muffler, the engine is more audible than the exhaust even when reving. I would like to get a little more performance out of a new muffler and be able to hear it without it being annoying and stay as far away from ricey as possible. I have been reading threads and watching youtube videos for hours and the opinions are split right down the middle.

My brother has magnaflows on his chevy and they sound great and a friend has one on his jeep and it sounds horrible.

I can't decide between Magnaflow or a Flowmaster 40 or 50 or something else all together.

It really comes down to personal sound preference. Personally, I like the sound of magnaflows

IDK, as far as sound goes...aren't these two manufacturers a wash, I mean they both have their different series mufflers...and that's it?? I went with the Magnaflow because of the stainless. I would be interested in hearing some cold hard facts about these exhausts instead of just people's opinions...

when i bought my truck it had a magnaflow muffler already installed. that muffler had a horrible drone and the note was an annoying high pitch. after about a year i replaced the magnaflow with a flowmaster 40, much less drone and much deeper sound. maybe everyones truck is different but the flowmaster worked much better for me.

 

I went with Magnaflow, for all the reasons already stated, and am happy with my choice.

 

I owned both. Flowmaster sounds "crunchy" and the cab was real loud vs the Magnaflow is a lot more of a smooth sound and a lot more quiter in the cab. I like my Magnaflow... will never buy a flowmaster.

 

Im looking into replacing my stock muffler. Definitely want something with some performance and a nice sound.

Which magnaflow muffler will be a good replacement for the stock muffler?

Dyonomaxx a choice?? In the thread posted by jberry it gives the best performance gain...and sounds good from the samples i have heard
