want to know why there is no power ac compresser

    Have a 96 toyota tacoma. Want to know why there is no power going to ac compressed.. it has a 2.7 liter motor

    Check the fuses.

    I had the same deal on my 96 3.4. Four possible problems, switch in your dash is no good, fuse, broken wire (only 1 wire running to the compressor, grounds thru mount) or the refrigerant is dipped below the critical level causing the compressor not to turn on (safety feature).

    On my 96 the refrigerant was low, and still is low....dont feel like chasing down the leak. lol

    Thanx ac was below critical had to run hot from battery straight to compressed and then put in freon in ...after that hook up wire back to compressed and it works now.. thanx for the help...

    No worries! I suspect you may have a leak. Your ac will slowly start warming up, then one day your compressor will cut out. Took my truck about 3 days.
