You know that the pennzoil F1 car uses mobile 1 synthetic. Not trolling just letting you know :p

Anyways I use mobile 1 in my v-6.

Current run is Amsoil 5W30. Truck has over 193k miles on it, and has had about every type oil out there since new. Last run was Havoline 5W30. I probably will stick with Amsoil, but use 0W30 next run.

Why would thicker oil be better in the summer? Also, why doesn't anyone use 0w oil? I'm using whatever the manual said, but it's a question I've had for a while now.

I've been using Mobil 1 synthetic but I got a free 6 month preferred customer membership from amsoil so I might try that for a change.

I do use 0W30, and it is my preferred weight due to increased mileage. I just had the other already on hand and need to use it up (still have 1 more change of Amsoil 5W30 left) but I will go back to Amsoil 0W30. Give it a try and see.

so 0w oil is better for high mileage trucks?

I'm thinking about switching to 0w-30 synthetic from 5w-30 regular. It sounds like a good idea, but I just haven't had the time to look into it.

It will help your mileage somewhat. Helped mine about 1-2 mpg. It does meet the 5W30 requirement, so no harm to your ride, just increased mileage and easier starts in the cold weather. I run 0W20 in my Lincoln Mark Lt to boost it up a bit as well. Check into it and see for yourself. Best of luck.
