Paint job

How much do y'all think a good paint job would cost for a single cab

Depends on the body, how much prep, etc. Also paint is a big factor. You want metallic, pearl, shade-shifter or a opaque green? Many variables. I got a killer paint job years ago (like early 80's) on one of my cars and it included body work, darn thing ran me about $800 so if that's any indication I'd say a good paint job would run in the 3-4K range but you should call some local autobody places for a quick guestimate.

top of the line factory paint job with standard colors will EASILY run you 2500 dollars more of less in the 4000 range though for big name places to do it...

DO THE "50 dollars paint job" or "Rustolem paint job" i did that to a friend accord that was torn to shit and it actually turned out AMAZING!!!!!....lots of work and we used a cheap ass gravity feed spray gun on a 3 gallon air compressor for the paint instead of brushing it on.

I've been quoted from 800.00 to 1500.00 with body work.Nothing major on mine, surface rust and a pretty good dent on the hood. That was just a basic factory style white paint job on an ex cab.

its not going to be a good paint job.... they will probably cover up everything slap a couple coats of white that will orange peel and then things like fender wells and door jams will still be the same old color.

Macco is the cheap way out, but the quality reflect that. It is not a bad job, but they just do the surface, they don't remove liners or anything else and spray underneath. Paint tends to chip easily. Again it is all about how much you want, you can spend top dollar for them to take off each panel and pain the while panel.

but remember, maaco doesnt do any body work, you prep it all your self, they dont do body jams either. they just do a spray over and thats it.

edit.... already covered above lol my bad

but if you know someone that paints thats the best way. i got a full custom air brush paint job for 1700. the paint alone cost 1300. he has about 120 hours of work into my truck with body work and paint. he did it for so cheap because i have known the guy since i was like 2 years old.

so, what you're saying is that all we have to do is find someone who's a good painter, then invent a time machine and go back and get your parents to befriend his parents. Simple!

I was quoted 900.00 by a paint shop that has done 2 of my buddies trucks. Using base coat/clear coat....now I am not a paint guy. As I under stand, different grades of paint etc. I do know my buddies 6 door F-350 painted white 4 yrs ago still looks good and the ex cab 1 ton dodge painted silver 2 yrs ago looks sharp today. I got quoted 1500.00 from one of the "top" paint shops here. Then again I'm not getting quoted show quality, I would find it hard to shell out 2500.00 - 4k for a paint job for my Taco. On the subject of Maaco...I am not a fan of their work, I recently sanded my F350 crewcab down after one of their paint jobs(PO had it done) in maroon went flat and peeled, hell the factory paint under it was better shape. I bed lined the whole truck for less than 500.00...but its a work truck that gets driven through brush etc.
