The front doors and rear speakers are 5x7 which have the same mounting pattern as the 6x8. So either or those will work. I just recently put in some Alpine speakers in my 02 Ext Cab.

I'm looking to upgrade my speakers too. How hard was it? Any words of wisdom?

tacomaniac is right, and its a bitch to get all the trim off but otherwise its easy, basically plug and play.

Yep hardest part is the trim removal, not really hard just time consuming just to get to the Rear speakers.

There is a thread on which panels to remove to get to the rear speakers. I don't know exactly where it was located though, I wanna say it was over at customtacos bit I'm not certain.

you basically take off the plastic trim above the back seats, then you need to take off the seat belt and then the sides, i never end up taking the side panels off completely because its a pain.
