how to get to front wheel bearings?

    press on standby to press them out, but how do i get to them? does the front hub with spindles not just come off? so frustrated gr.

    truck in sig, 99' 4x4 ifs.

    search ncttora.com for a factory service manual. very helpful

    A few bolts are different.
    yeah looks like it. I was not sure thought. On the 2nd gen its 4 bolts and slides right out.

    It's pressed on the wheel hub. You need to pry it out of the spinde

    A few bolts are different.
    In this aspect I'm so glad the 2nd gen is the way it is. Saved me about 800 in shop costs when I did my bearings.

    A few bolts are different.
    I didnt have to use a press to remove the hub assembly... Loosen 4 bolts and coax out the assembly with rubber mallet. If it is the same... Well, Shit'chyeah! Thats better for OP

    Yes, the hub assembly should come out of the spindle, it just takes a coaxing. The wheel bearings should have needed pressed off of the hub.

    yes. only the bearings them self need the press work

OME 883# on Tundra 5100's, OMD custom 3" leafsprings, rear shock relocation, Ivan Stewart TRD rims w/285/75/16's, '02 bumper MOD, Famous Fabrications sliders , LED interior/exterior lights, bed bar, Custom tube bumper, Old school KC day lighters,Red Ring 8" HID flood, Kenwood vhf 2M.. umm some other shit I'm forgetting right now
    Yep, & of course its always best to have them pressed out by a shop or wherever you can find a good vice & press if you dont have one, with a few tools & a little skill it isn't that big a deal, pop the caliper & hardware related shit outta the way, pop off that round inspection cover on the center of hub , you may or may not have to knock the small bends in lock ring/nutt/washer (which ever applies, i've seen all 3 before)straight with small chisel & mallet, getting the old race out is pretty easy, if you don't have a vice (or a press for that matter) you can use a couple bricks, 4x4 blocks, whatever to get a little space between the hub/bearing assembly

    now get a screwdriver & pry out the old seal get a big ass socket, one that is just undersized to the bearing race you are about to send on its way to the shit can, place that slightly undersized socket S Q U A R E L Y on the old race & with a good single jack about 2 or 3 good smacks will have it out
