    Hello everyone, been lurking a while now, finally getiing a 1999 this evening. Question, does a 1999 taco need the bandclamp lock like the 2nd gens. Thanks

    881 Front coils, Bilstien 5100's all the way front set to "0" Icon Dynamic's mini leafs in rear, stock tires.
    I think he is talking about a hose clamp that keeps the gate from being stolen unless you have a screw driver and some time to un do the clamp, my 04 is bolted on and a wrench/socket is needed to remove the tail gate.

    Thanks, yes it is the hose clamp mod for the 2nd gen I was asking about. I would hate to wake up the first day and find out the tailgate was stolen. I know I would find out when I picked up the truck, but I do not have any hose clamps and did not know if I should pick some up. Can't wait. I will post some pics when I get it.

    If you buy a clamp that requires a screwdriver only to open or close it once you have it in place and tight fill the screwdiver slot with hot glue or something similar to make it difficult to loosen the clamp.
