SQUEAKING SOUND FRONT LEFT TIRE ON 2004 V6 4X4 DOUBLE CAB...PLEASE HELP!!

Hi everyone,

I have a 2004 Tacoma V6 4x4 Double Cab. I've recently started hearing a squeaking noise and it appears to be coming from the front driver's side wheel. It ALMOST sounds like the noise you hear when your brake pads need replacement. I am sure it's not that because I replaced the pads about 3 or 4 months ago.

The really strange thing is that it happens when I hit a slight bump. It will start squealing and it will keep squealing until I hit another bump and then it stops. If I am driving with smooth terrain, there will be no problem until I hit a slight bump which starts it again. It sounds like a squealing/grinding/rubbing noise. I used to hear it only with the window open, but now I can even hear it with the windows closed.

I have no idea what it could be. Please help!!!

 

Is it all the time, or just under braking, or what??

how soon after you replaced the pads did this start? Your anti-vibration clip or something similar might be rubbing.

Either that or you might have a bad wheel bearing.

Did you ever solve this? I am experiencing the exact same issue. Squeaking is consistent while driving, and does not disappear while breaking.

 

my started doing the same thing about 2 weeks ago, but now my passenger side is slowly starting to do it :S

Wait, sorry, I just posted but re-read my own initial post.

I still do hear a slight jingle when I go over bumps, but I guess I've become so used to it that it no longer bothers me and I really don't hear it.

I'm pretty sure it's the anti-squeeze clamp thing that rattles around, because it has come loose before. I THINK, but I'm not sure....Honestly, it's been so long I can't even really remember what it was, but I know I couldn't find out and was not able to do anything about it.

I'm not sure what it was, but it seemed to work itself out. Sorry, I know that's not much help.

 

Its either yall's pads arent fully releasing against the rotor, or you have a bad caliper that needs to be replaced. Same thing was happening to my truck about a week ago. Took both front tires off replaced pads, and calipers no more squealing, or noise of any sort. Also changed out the brake fluid. May even be the rotor itself and needs to be turned. Hope everything works out well for everyone! Nothing worse than having the loudest squealing vehicle when coming to a stoplight at an intersection, and everybody turns to look at you.
