Bilstein 5100 install question

    I need to replace my worn out shocks and I am thinking about Bilstein 5100s from Downsouth Motorsports. The site says that the shocks are made to be used with an AAL and may require modification to the compression bump stop on chassis if leaving the rear suspension stock. What modifications are needed? I don't want to lift my truck right now. Will the 5100s fit my stock suspension without much modification?

    I'm pretty sure those will fit with no modification at all. Havent heard of anyone having any problems with them fitting stock.

    If anything, give DSM a call. Sonny and Marco have always helped TW members, and even offer a TW discount if you end up buying the 5100's from them. :thumbsup:

    Or should I just go with the 5125 in the back and the 5100 up front? If so which 5125s?

    The RCD billie 5100s are designed for some lift. Most likely they are talking about extending the bumpstops so you dont over compress the shocks. Over compressing (the compressed length being the limiting factor during articulation) will damage them.

    I would suggest asking Mario or Sonny at DSM this question.

    yea you only need 5125s for the extended travel for lifted applications.
