Hey guys I'm new to this whole forums thing. I figured might as well join the Tacoma clan since we all know....tacomas are beasts. Well besides all of that I jus put a borla single catback exhaust system on my 98 xtra cab sr5 4x4 Tacoma. I am in love with it but the only problem is that the bolts that connect to the CAT converter keeps snapping. I used up to grade 8 bolts and it seems like the heat is cooking it and it just snaps off. Both me and the shop have never seen anything like that before. I had some options but need some help making them. I was deciding on one to jus weld the thing already. Two swap out the converter...maybe something's wrong with it and it's getting to hot. Or three jus strait pipe it already. Could you guys give me some ideas please. Ohh and I also got a K&N FIPK in there as well. Any ideas would help. Thanks.

I don't think so but I was also thinking about welding on another one and see what happens. The bolts snaps quick so we should see results soon if anything. How do you think a straight pipe would be.

thanks tigah. yea i was jus about to say. i put on new bolts like on tuesday and it jus snapped today. that shows how long it lasts. i came up with two options. 1) jus straight pipe it already and no need even worry bout bolts or 2) weld hangers on the borla and hang em from the stock hangers. idk. what do you think

To me personally I really am over having to buy new bolts. I wanna call up borla and tell them that I either want a new exhaust or money back for having to fix it all the time. And personally I think that knowing me and my luck they sent me this exhaust without the hangers for the back part. It's got the one for the end but the part by the CAT converter there ain't none so I thinkthats putting more stress on the bolts.
