95 tacoma air conditioner clutch

I recently developed a noise in my 95 tacoma. through troubleshooting i narrowed it down to the AC compressor clutch. the middle piece, the one with the puley and the bearing went bad. the system still blows very cold, so i would rather not replace the entire compressor, not to mention the price! I found an aftermarket clutch assy on ebay for one third the cost of one from the dealer. has anyone used one of these aftermarket clutches with any degree of success? thanks for your imput.

 

I thought the same thing you did. Replaced the clutch and the noise is still there but it works fine.

 

Replace clutch and bearing, noise should go away. They usually go together.
