    Hi Guys,
I've got a 4X4 V6 98 taco limited Xtracab and I'm sick of the passenger having a better seat than me. I really like current bucket seats and since the passenger one has much more life in it than the current drivers one I want to switch them and then the squeaky packed out drivers seat will be someone else's problem.

I'm wondering if this swap is possible. I have the limited edition so things might be slightly different than with the regular tacos. I'm wondering if someone has done this? It seems possible but before I spend a bunch of time taking the seats out I’d like to know if this is going to work.

I know the controls are different but what I want to know is if it's possible to just take out the "seat" part and switch them and hook each seat up to the others controls.

Thanks guys you've always been great help.

You could also try a junkyard for a better seat

Thanks, I thought about that but i'd rather keep my current seats save me some time and money and the passenger seat is in really good shape. Also, the wreckers around think toyota parts are made of gold.

Yeah the rail system should be universal, you might just have to flip the sides around, but removing the seats is really easy so you might as well try it! And your seatbelt thing may make noise because my drivers seat has a plug and the passenger doesn't

you should be able to just swap the the seat bottom and seat back around and keep the rails and controls the same....but who knows i could be wrong.

the seat back and bottom on my 89 runner were swappable at least thats what it looked like i never did it but once again who knows things could have changed in 9 years

It's an 89 Toyota Pickup. I got some stuff done to it.. FJ axles going under it soon.
They mount a tad differently..so you would have to unbolt the rails and sliders off the seat and see if it'd mount up vice versa.

and the seatbelts unbolt. I know because in my old Tacoma I had to use my Tacoma latches on my Subaru seats..

So you could swap the sensor over if your worried about that shit anyway.

IMO you be better off looking on Craigslist or Junkyard..I see Tacoma buckets all the time.

Any luck with sealing the seat bottom? I have an 04 Tacoma and the driver seat is nowhere near as comfy as the passenger
