First, I replaced by High-Flow K&N filter with an AFE Pro-Dry. The K&N was dirty and I didn't feel like cleaning and oiling it so I decided to upgrade to the AFE. So far, I'm very happy with the decision. After that, I installed a 4" deckplate. This turned out to be pretty time-consuming because my Dremel is packed away in storage and all my mom had at her house was a little handsaw. So, a lot of trimming, sanding, and sweat later I was able to fit the deckplate in the hole. I epoxied around the lip, added screws, and that was that.

Next, the 13 year old weatherstripping on the doors was severely cracked and faded with a lot of aluminum showing through. I ordered the replacement parts and changed those out using scocar's tutorial here. For such a small thing to replace, it really makes all the difference in giving your older Tacoma a face-lift.

Since I already had my side mirrors off I replaced them too. My old ones were, for lack of better words, messed up.

That's pretty much it. My truck is getting painted right now and I'm having new door handles and quarter windows put in. I'll post pics of those when it gets back.

Nice! It's those little upgrades that keep the truck looking nice. Question though. When you replaced the weather striping was it just the one bottom horizontal piece or all the weather stripping around the door???

Just the bottom piece, that's the one that's rubber-coated aluminum so when it gets old and cracks, the aluminum shines through. Everything else I'm just going to use Forever Black dye kit.
