having some bad thoughts...(changing trucks)

so lately ive been thinking of possibly changing to a full sized pickup. either a new ram 1500, 2500, or a 2500 duramax. i love my tacoma but i just keep thinking of more space then my taco offers. maybe a second gen taco im just not sure whats your thoughts guys.

Well if you really need more space I'd say go for it. I don't think I would ever get a Ram though. It'd be between a Tundra and an F-150

 

I vote keep the taco but if you do want a fullsize go with a tundra.

 

yeah if possible i would love to keep my taco and get a full sized but thats a big if. I like the tundras but they are just so damn expensive even for a 07. does anyone know if the 2nd gen tacomas can actually fit a 4x8 sheet of plywood in the bed flat? i find that to be one of the most annoying things about the tacoma. stupid i know but annoying non the less.

im sure i would miss it. dont get me wrong i love my taco however i do need more then it offers at the moment. more interior space and better payload would be awesome. how about some insight from some second gen owners? is the space in a double cab enough? how about its towing capacity? can you fit any toys in the bed eg atvs? just need some help deciding to many options!!!!!!!!

 

i was going to say you should look into 2nd gen's. they are much bigger and ore powerful. i went from a 99 ext cab to an 08 DC and its a huge difference. if you need space make sure you get the DCLB, not the SB,

I love the taco but I have always been a fan of that 2500 duramax, lt just is built so well and looks like a beast

aha fj's are fun no doubt but not for me i just cant not have that truck bed. and for sure my next truck will have the 4 doors. My dad has a 2001 2500 duramax one of the first. the thing is great had really no issues with it and tons of power. but my issue with that is wether i will need all that power or would a 2nd gen suffice? i really have no idea ahah. just need some taco insight lol

 

Lots of Used Tundra'a on the lots I can't believe they won't deal.

 

Nothing wrong with ram, Get a cummins long bed, It will still be working well after you need to call it a night. My first opinion is of course to stay with your Tacoma though

 

I don't tow that often and don't haul on a regular basis, part of the reason for trading my 2005 Ram QC Hemi. Gas milage and a little too big since I didn't really use it. Now interior wise my 2nd gen is just fine for me. I do miss the huge center console of the Ram. Since I have the short bed, yeah I imagine hauling might be a bit tight. But so far it's handled everything I've needed it for. I usually can borrow a trailer if I need more room for hauling. Bottom line is it does suit my needs and I love this truck. But you have to decide for yourself if it's enough. If you are planning to put bikes or quads in the back then you'll probably want a long bed though. Hope this helps.
