I recently got a 1998 tacoma sr5 4x4. it is bone stock besides wheels. i do have a few questions. first, my truck sits low for a 4x4 i looked at the leaf spring and the bottom one is upside down is this stock? second, the tires i have on there are 235/75/15s are these stock size? and last i wasthinking bout a 2.5" leveling kit, will this clear 31/10.50? thanks for looking :):mudding:

welcom. 31/10.5 will fit stock. do a 3" lift with 33/12.5/15 you will be way happier.

I think he means the overload spring that is upside down. But, its a 99, so the leafs are probably sagging anyways.

Welcome to TW matthew, my 97 came stock with 31X10.5X15, so you should have no problem fitting them.

Its just the over load leaf, its suppose to be like that.

And yes 31'' will fit easy with a 2.5'' leveling kit. But i am willing to bet that means your looking a spacer lifts which suck fyi. Just cheap crap that you will regret getting later. I have 31s with hardly any lift at all and it was fine.

    Welcome!

    oh...and..

Just buy 33x12.5s or face regrets and withdrawls of trucks looking sexier on 33s. SERIOUSLY.

It would help if you took pictures of the entire leaf pack (crawl under the truck and take picture from under driveline) and also park on level ground. The first pic scared me at first but then I saw how your truck was oriented in the last pic, you had some flex goin on... The bottom leaf is negatively arched for a reason, so no problems there. More pics..

It's ok, you can say SHIT here

If that's on level ground in pic 1, you got some serious sagging "frowny leaves"

You're about to get about 2000 replies about how you should lift your truck and replace leaf packs and front coils... Might as well just get that credit card out now and get ready to drain your accounts haha.

it'll help, but only postpone having to buy new leafs. Replacing leaf packs is pretty popular on our trucks..sadly..
