strange noise

driving home tonight I noticed again for the first time in a while that one of my front wheels was making a srange noise. it sounded like something was wrong with one of my front wheels. I think it was my front right wheel bearing but I honestly don't have much of an idea of what I am doing. any idea how to check if it/they need replacing or any other ideas how to find out what it is. I know the alignment is a-ok. ideas?

It sounds like some sort of metal on metal. It was a combination between a whirr-ing and a kind of whistle, and it was happening when I was driving uphill in a roundabout taking a left. One friend thoughtt it might be the wheel bearing but he knows about as much as me if not less. Ill see if I can make a recording of it if it happens again

That sounds like either brake pad wear or the bearing.

1.) Jack up to get that wheel off the ground.
2.) Grasp the wheel at the top and bottom and shake it.
3.) Any wobbling indicates you have problems, either bearing or ball joints.
4.) No wobbling...inspect the brake pads to see if they are worn down enough to put the wear tab close to contacting the rotor.

Let us know what you find.
