Erasing the codes same as resetting the computer??

    7th Injector kit, Trans Cooler, Donohoe c/o's, Billy's in the rear, FJ Cruiser Trail Team SE wheels.
    I occasionally get a P-0351 code after a long cranking start, probably a bad coil. So erase the code and off I go.

    Does erasing the code do the same as disconnecting the battery terminal to reset the computer?

    Reason why I ask, I still get horrible gas mileage after erasing the codes. Then some weeks I get just fine gas mileage.
